This week it was announced that the WWE had partnered up with Fanatics for its iGaming growth.
Details were scant on what the relationship will involve, with Fanatic securing a heavyweight IP contract to bolster its global footprint.
PPV Themed Titles
The PPV calendar is a vital aspect of what the WWE is delivering to the table. The iGaming relationship with Fanatics is expected to cash in on this with an array of titles.
The firm has already revealed WWE Bonus Rumble Gold Blitz (Games Global) and WWE Clash of the Wilds (Games Global) which both borrow the identity of two big events from the PPV schedule.
WrestleMania is the highlight of the calendar – and it looks very likely this will be commemorated as part of WWE’s iGaming initiative.
The partnership kicks off during the SummerSlam weekend in August, continuing to build on the big events on the WWE calendar.
“We are excited to expand our partnership with WWE to now offer an exclusive suite of WWE-themed online casino games,” said Ari Borod, Chief Business Officer, Fanatics Betting & Gaming.
“This is a natural extension of the WWE-Fanatics partnership that already includes global e-commerce, licensed merchandise, memorabilia and the production and distribution of an expanding slate of digital shows.”
Locking in Live Dealer
The cooperation has also identified the live dealer vertical as one it may crack, with the two creative groups joining forces.
The company said players may "step into a world of excitement as Fanatics Casino brings the casino floor directly to a customer’s fingertips’.
This will offer a large selection of classic and contemporary casino games including slots, blackjack, roulette, progressive jackpots and video poker.
Fanatics Casino will be creative in terms of the live casino experience for players and tapping into the assets made accessible as a consequence of the WWE link-up, with a full and engaging gaming experience.
Creative elements
Mechanics and features are still the stars of slots and we're likely to see certain WWE features used to provide a new degree of originality and creativity to its mechanics.
The Raw Multiplier Melee (Boom Entertainment) and the SmackDown Big Money Entrance! (Boom Entertainment) are already put out and the link will certainly get wrestling fans eager for some of the games to come.
Advertising that is responsible
Fanatics announced the agreement and noted the reach of the WWE would continue to focus on ensuring appropriate gaming reminders are maintained.
Fanatics Casino said on the Responsible Gaming front that it “encourages users to play with a plan, using in-app tools like time, deposit and wager limits. Fanatics Casino has also teamed up with Birches Health to offer further support services for users who are having trouble controlling their play.”
In the area of the formation of games, efforts might be the key to ensuring that the collaboration doesn’t appeal to a younger age if the games and marketing are based around older stars and legends, who were around in a previous era.
